Bodrum's autumn cruise season got a boost on 13 October, when the Malta-flagged Marella Voyager docked in the port for the very first time.

Arriving from Thira (Santorini) in Greece, the ship carried 1,850 passengers, most of them British, along with 773 crew members. After completing customs procedures, visitors explored Bodrum's bazaar and the Kumbahçe area, and toured landmarks such as Bodrum Castle and the Ancient Theatre. Some guests joined boat tours along the coast.

The ship's next stop on its itinerary is Souda Port on the island of Crete.

Cruise calls like this show that Bodrum remains an attractive destination well beyond the summer peak, extending the tourism season and bringing international visitors to the town's historic and cultural sites.
