Turkey has made a spectacular debut in the hospitality world's most prestigious recognition system, with 26 hotels earning Michelin Keys in the guide's first global hotel selection. This historic achievement positions Turkey among the world's elite hospitality destinations.
The Michelin Guide awarded Keys to 2,457 hotels worldwide, with Turkey securing an impressive share: 22 hotels received one Key, 3 hotels earned two Keys, and 1 hotel achieved the coveted three Keys. This recognition spans across Turkey's most sought-after destinations, from Istanbul to the Turkish Riviera.
Bodrum, Turkey's premier wedding and luxury tourism destination, particularly shone in the awards. Four exceptional properties in the region received Michelin Keys: Allium Bodrum Resort & Spa, the legendary Amanruya, Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, and Birdcage 33 Hotel in nearby Yalıkavak. Each property represents the pinnacle of Turkish hospitality, offering unique experiences that blend luxury with authentic Turkish culture.
The Michelin Key system evaluates hotels based on five criteria: architecture and interior design, service quality and hospitality, overall personality and character, value for the experience, and contribution to the guest experience. Turkey's success in this inaugural selection demonstrates the country's commitment to excellence in hospitality and its emergence as a global luxury destination.
This recognition comes at a perfect time for Turkey's tourism industry, which continues to break records and attract discerning travelers from around the world. For couples planning destination weddings, these Michelin Key properties offer unparalleled venues that combine world-class service with breathtaking Mediterranean settings.
