The Bodrum Tourism Foundation (BOTAV) made history by organizing the first-ever Bodrum Golden Mausoleum Awards (BAM), a prestigious ceremony designed to honor Bodrum's artists, craftsmen, and individuals who create lasting value for this historic destination. The glamorous event brought together prominent figures from Turkey's business and art communities.

Celebrating Cultural Heritage

The awards ceremony recognized individuals and institutions who preserve Bodrum's cultural heritage, art, gastronomy, and innovative tourism initiatives while focusing on sustainability and social benefit. A distinguished jury of Turkey's leading experts conducted the voting process to select the worthy recipients.

Connection to Ancient Wonder

BOTAV Chairman and Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci emphasized the significance of the mausoleum connection in his opening speech: 'The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, built by Queen Artemisia for King Mausolus in the 4th century BC, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We should feel very fortunate that this magnificent structure once stood on our land.'

We believe that one day, thanks to the many people who care for Bodrum, this ceremony might be held in front of the mausoleum itself, and the value that rightfully belongs will return to Bodrum.

A Vision for the Future

The Golden Mausoleum Awards represent more than just recognition - they embody a vision for Bodrum's future. The ceremony aims to inspire continued dedication to preserving and enhancing the cultural and economic value of this unique destination, while honoring those who contribute to its legacy.

This inaugural event sets a new standard for celebrating cultural contributions in Turkish tourism, highlighting Bodrum's position as a world-class destination that values both its ancient heritage and modern innovations.
